MEETING MINUTES
Saturday, July 6, 2019
The meeting was called to order by our new president, Philip Mitchell.
* Big Thank You to SHARON ROSBERG for hosting our 2019 meeting. Sharon was presented with a $75 visa gift card as a token of our appreciation.
* Announcement & recognition of members/family that have passed away. MOMENT OF SILENCE to honor the following … William (Bill) James Thomas Murray Sr (passed 7/8/2018), Chuck Askov (passed 7/19/18), Jim Hulshizer (passed 3/18/19), Daryl Anderson (passed 4/6/19).
* Secretary Report - Renee Ransom Motion moved and second to accept secretary's report. Motion approved.
* Treasurer's Report - Gwen Thomas The Association reported a balance of $722.26 at the 2018 Annual Meeting. We paid Gaye Sykes $144.89 for 2018 food and picnic supplies and reimbursed Renee Ransom $68.15 for postage and printing. We deposited $270 from Association dues pad last year bringing our current balance to $779.22 which is held in the Association's BlackRidge Bank checking account.
New business -
* DNR & PCA ( Pollution Control Agency)
Gwen Thomas presented information about our lake and resources to look at if we have personal interests. Adney Lake is 310.06 acres; shore is 2.87 miles; depth, according to DNR, is 27-30 feet; clarity - no new testing since 2015 at which time it was >4 meters. The Mn Pollution Control Agency has information on citizen testing if anyone wants to test lake water clarity on their own. There is also information on their website about a simple jar test for blue green algae.
* New families welcomed to lake - Angela & Derek Shaw and Ken & Patti Anderson (Daryl Anderson's son)
* We have 50% of the emails. Our goal is to send our meeting announcements by email and eliminate the cost of U.S. mail.
* Mark Fritsvold stated he has has not updated the picture directory he started some time ago. The conversation brought up we could transition to sending Association information by email and some suggested we check on the possibility of a website or Facebook page to share information. Mark mentioned that he and Mary Jo are retired and full time on the lake. He is willing to help with the transition of directory pictures to a website or other option.
*Mark and Mary Jo Fritsvold volunteered to host the 2020 meeting. Saturday, July 11, 2020.
* Mark and Mary Jo volunteered to rebuild the loon nest. It was moved and second that Association funds be used to cover expenses of materials to rebuild the nest, which Fritsvolds said would be no more than $50. Motion passed.
* Motion to adjourn, second and passed.
Drawings for prizes donated by Association Members was held.
